Vinegars and Elixirs

Raw, Unfiltered, Organic with the "Mother"

Health Benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar*

New medical research suggests that apple cider vinegar use may help relive symptoms of acid reflux, lower blood pressure, improve diabetes, and support weight loss. The benefits of apple cider vinegar come from it’s powerful healing compounds which include acetic acid, potassium, magnesium, probiotics, prebiotics and enzymes. Acetic acid has the ability to inhibit dangerous “bad” bacteria, and at the same time to foster the growth of beneficial “good” bacteria. Because acetic acid harms or kills unwanted bacteria when it comes into contact with it, it essentially may act as a natural antibiotic. This means apple cider vinegar naturally provides numerous benefits related to skin, digestion, and immunity health without any side effects. Additionally, apple cider vinegar is a good source of polyphenols. Research supports the role of polyphenols in the prevention of cardiovascular diseases, cancers, neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s, osteoporosis, and diabetes. Make sure when buying apple cider vinegar you buy it raw and with the “mother” which means it still contains the beneficial compounds including probiotics. *

Legend of the Four Thieves

The usual story declares that a group of thieves during a European plague outbreak were robbing the dead or the sick. When they were caught, they offered to exchange their secret recipe, which had allowed them to commit the robberies without catching the disease, in exchange for leniency. Another version says that the thieves had already been caught before the outbreak and their sentence had been to bury dead plague victims; to survive this punishment, they created the vinegar.

Oak Creek Apple Company's Vinegar of the Four Thieves

Being an apple company, we decided that we needed to have a high quality, unfiltered organic apple cider vinegar made with local apples. We didn't stop at that, though - we didn't want just an average ACV, we wanted an epic ACV. Most of the recipes that you find these days for the Vinegar of the Four Thieves - or V4T - calls for Thyme, Rosemary, Sage, Lavender, Mint and Garlic in a white or wine vinegar, steeped for several days and then strained. Here at Oak Creek Apple Company, we decided to take it a step further - and use more of the truly original ingredients that were in the real Vinegar of the Four Thieves that was developed in Medieval times. Our recipe includes not only the basics listed above, but also Horehound and Holy Basil, in our raw, unfiltered organic Apple Cider Vinegar instead of white or wine vinegar. The V4t comes in a 16 ounce sealed jar. We always use only the highest quality organic herbs in our vinegars, resulting in a superior product in efficacy, quality and taste. This is a very powerful blend of ingredients, and there are many ways to utilize the benefits.*

Probiotics and Gut health

All of our Vinegars and Elixirs contain beneficial bacertia. What does that mean? Pre and Probiotics may hold the key not just for better health and a stronger immune system, but also for  digestive issues, mental health illness and neurological disorders. Research continues to prove that these tiny bacterial warriors that we share a body with have benefits that go far beyond what we previously thought.*

The first and most overlooked reason that our digestive tracts are critical to our health is because 80 percent of your entire immune system is located in your digestive tract! That is an astounding percentage. *

In addition to the impact on our immune systems, our digestive systems are the second largest part of our neurological system. It’s called the enteric nervous system and is located in the gut. This is why it’s called our second brain!*

Many people with health issues, such as thyroid imbalances, chronic fatigue, joint pain, psoriasis, autism and many other conditions don’t realize that these illnesses originate in the gut.*

The best way to defend your immune system and live symbiotically with the good bacteria is to ingest probiotic rich foods, such as our Vinegars, Elixirs and Honeys, as well as fermented foods like Natto, Sauerkraut and Raw Kefir. Start slowly so as not to upset your stomach, and begin to populate the good guys in your gut. The health benefits will blow your mind.*
